As part of efforts to improve cargo processing and strengthen collaboration, the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), has engaged the top 100 Licensed Customs Agents operating at the Pilgrims and Cargo Terminal (PCT), Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
The stakeholder forum, organised through its Directorate of Cargo Development and Services (DCDS), provided a platform for FAAN, Licensed Customs Agents, freight forwarders and other key players across the cargo value chain to discuss operational challenges affecting cargo processing and movement, while identifying practical measures to improve efficiency and service delivery.
The engagement also focused on strengthening coordination among stakeholders and addressing areas of concern that could affect the smooth movement of cargo through the airport.
Representing the Managing Director/Chief Executive, Mrs Olubunmi Kuku, the Director of Cargo Development and Services, Mr Lekan Thomas, reaffirmed FAAN’s commitment to sustained engagement with stakeholders across the cargo value chain.
Thomas said the Authority remains committed to fostering a safer, more efficient, transparent and competitive air cargo ecosystem, stressing the importance of collaboration among stakeholders in achieving improved operational outcomes.
He emphasised that the engagement would not be a one-off initiative but part of a structured approach to addressing operational concerns, strengthening compliance and improving the overall business environment for air cargo operations across Nigeria’s airports.
